Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
Well, Ava is now just a little over 7 1/2 months, and here's the update...
Our sweet little girl can...eat "solids", sit all by herself, drag herself anywhere in her attempts to crawl (almost there!), lift her tummy off the ground for short periods of time, play a drum, play the piano and sing! : )
She has traveled to Colorado and back on an airplane (remind us to write about that sometime...we were in the same American Airlines mess that made the news the weekend following Christmas...not fun!).
She got to meet her Great-Grandma & Great-Grandpa Hahn!
She has experienced her first Christmas, her first snow (it snowed in Colorado while we were there...yeah!), her first Youth Conference : ), her first swim and her first sourdough roll! : ) She has 4 teeth now...2 on the bottom and 2 on the top!
Oh yeah...and this is Mommy & Daddy's all-time FAVORITE milestone so far...Ava has become a pro at sleeping in her crib for naps and at night-time! That was one of the things we've struggled with since she was born. The girl is a light sleeper and would get so upset that she wouldn't be able to calm down and fall asleep...she always had to be moving. But now, the heavens have opened up and she will go to sleep in her crib either without crying or with crying just a little and will sleep for 10 hours straight most nights! Hallelujah!!!
OK, even though this is the baby blog, I'll stop obsessing over her for a minute and update you on the rest of the family's lives since Mommy & Daddy don't update their own blogs anyway. : ) Let's see...Adam and I made it through the Christmas Concert and Christmas Services relatively unscathed. ; ) Actually, the concert went really well despite a "minor" hitch. We enjoyed our first Christmas with Ava and our trip out to see Adam's family in Colorado (we thought we were never going to make it...but seriously, that story would take me about an hour to type). We received wonderful news when we finally made it to Colorado that we're going to be an Aunt and Uncle and Ava will have a cousin soon! Congratulations Aunt Stef & Uncle Jason! : ) We became God-parents for our friends Jeff & Charisma's son Benjamin, yeah! We provided music for the Diocesan Youth Conference again this year...that was this past weekend. Adam wrote the theme song for the weekend and we recorded it, too. It was a lot of fun! If you want to listen to the song, you can CLICK HERE. Oh yeah, and now that life has "settled down" (ha ha) we're moving again. Yes, you really did read that right. We are moving again, but this is the last time! : ) It better be anyway! : ) Stay tuned for more on that...

Great Pictures! Ava just gets cuter and cuter! It sounds like you guys have been busy traveling and enjoying so many of Ava's first experiences. Thanks for keeping all of us far from FL updated. We'll have to catch up soon. Take care! smiles, alysia & ?
